Tropical Fish In Ohio?
Stayed local this weekend and hit Stadium Park for 2 hrs . Sunfish, chubs, and little bluegill were very active in the crick, once the sun warmed up the slow pools. Hard to believe such colorfull fish are in our cricks. Click on the photo to see the bright turquoise under its eyes. Plus it's late November, the fish only know conditions, not what month it is.

Browns Season Off To A Great Start!
Everyone keeps saying the Brown's season is over. I went to a stream somewhere in Ohio to see for myself. It's just getting started, this brown was a playa-- smacked a size 14 pastel egg just before dark. Maybe there talking about the Cleveland Brown's?

Michigan Guide flies!
If you go north till you smell sh_t, then go west till you step in it, you will be in Ann Arbor. I called a Michigan fly shop to ask what was the best steelhead fly to use, if I had to go up there. Anyway, he sent me a dozen of these. He said Michigan fly guys only use these, and they hammer the fish. He said most guys fish em close to the bottom with a small weight and a jerking motion. These people are just classless. Go Bucks!

Chagrin Report
My friends- we are in a drought. The Chagrin is 80 somthing with no flow. Sunny- dry- warm days are a steelheaders nightmare. Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses) said "it's hard to hold a candle in the cold November rain." What the heck is he talking about? I'm still mowing my yard and wearing shorts. Steelieman!

Chagrin River Report For Sun. Nov. 1st
Ok folks here are the facts. The Chagrin and most of the stocked rivers blew out Saturday night from the rain. As of 9:00 today it is 400 and falling. Too fast for flies today, may fish late this afternoon if it hits 300. No I have not been there today, but I have a log book of 6 years of data . The planets are aligning for Monday morning. Partly sunny and temps in low 50's. Light winds from the SW. Never fish a rising or stale river, (unless there is nothing else to do). Be there when it starts to clear and they put the feed bags on. P.S. those are size 11 wader boots-do the math? Steelieman
