Weekly Report!

 All Lake Erie tribs. are still low and clear.  Spikekayak and myself decided to try  The Mohican State Park and a little known trib that holds some nice rainbows.  Great day, lots of fish and saw no other anglers, wow!  Spike using his  fiberglass fly rod with the hook up below! 

Nice!!

 Brown trout, size isn't everything, remember were in Ohio and it's November.

Grand River Long Wall Photos!

                                                                          Check out this link for some nice photos of the "Long Wall."   This guy caught a couple nice fish.  He is at the mouth of the Grand river in Painesville, about a quarter mile out into the lake where the Lighthouse is....................

Weekly River Report!

Chagrin still too low and clear to be productive.  Some fish being caught at Fairport Harbor Lighhouse.  Popper got the first of the season casting spoons from the lighthouse Saturday morning.  As soon as a hard rain blows out the leaves the river fishing will be in full swing.  Lots of Michigan trip pics. are now up on- http://www.nimishillencreekkidsfishing.com/.  I hit the Tuscarawas today from 4-6 with my 9ft noodle rod in search of some pike.  Got one little one on Rapala Glass Minnow and lost one a little bigger after a brief hook up.  Also got a couple smallies on 4in Senkos.  The noodle rod casts a mile but  has too much flex to set the hooks on pike.  

 

Weekend Steelhead Report!

Finally! Steelhead season is here.  The Chagrin got a good shot of rain on Thursday and the flow hit around 400.  Should fish Saturday afternoon and Sunday for sure with no additional rain.  See The Rocky River Fishing Report for details on all the rivers and some nice photos.

http://blogs.clemetparks.com/rocky-river-fishing-report This guy, "Mark"caught a stray Salmon on the Rocky this week. Wow, you never know unless you go!!  Also, Petros Park on Perry Dr. was stocked with 12-14 inch rainbows last Friday.

Dog Days Of Summer!

Went to the park to try for a carp and got skunked.  Talked to a guy named Andy and he caught this nice bass on a spinner bait.  Great job!  

                                     

Cuyahoga River In The Heat!

Took the ultralight gear, wee craws and small plastics, to the Cuyahoga just off Route 8. Lots of little dink smallies like below.  They were good game considering the high temps, and full sun.  The second photo shows how a section of Route 8 sits right on top of bare rock!   

Rachel standing on this row of cement platforms which were great to cast from.  Looks like a great spot to high stick with your fly rod bc you can stand right over the hole without casting!
