Chagrin River Report!

All the rain from Fiday did not raise the flows much at all.  As of today the Chagrin is at 140 cubic inches/sec and slightly rising. This may bring a few fresh fish in and Sunday is probably a good day with mostly cloudy skies and mid 50's in the forecast.  This was not the blow out we needed to clear the leaves out and bring in a steady flow of fish.   However these young ladies had a great day despite the low flows and clear water!

Petros Park Report From Sunday!

Landed a couple trout and this guy had the catch of the day with a large albino cat that he released.  I pulled the photo off of Ohio  Game Fishing.  He said it hit an in-line spinner. Pick  your trash up if you go. I saw lots of pigs just walk away from all their crap they left lay around.

Petros Park

Petros park off Perry drive was stocked with 12in rainbows on Friday.  There will be a lot of fish and a lot of anglers the first couple days.  Hit it in the morning or an hour before dark.  I would use size 12 to 14 bead head nymphs on 4 to 6 lb fluoro. tippet.  There will be a lot of bobbers slapping the water so stay away from the bucket boys slinging that dirty 4 letter word- "bait."

Artistic Flies

I found this caddis fly immitation from Alberto Calzolari's collection. He lives in Italy and makes some incredible stuff.  If I figure out how to tie this, it's hammer time! Click on the photo to enlarge it ,or you can go to Alberto's web site by clicking at the top on "Artistic Flies."

Some Eye Candy To Get The Season Started!

Buckeye Chrome!

10-12-09 Chagrin RiverSkipper!  Woolly bugger on the swing  took the first of 3 fish of the season. Flow was around 150 and dropping. Cloudy, low 50's with slight drizzle.

Welcome post.

Welcome to Steeliman and Friends blog! We fish all cricks, rivers and ditches in the Buckeye State. My passion is tying flies and pursuing steelhead on the fly.
