Weekly Report!

Steelhead season is upon us.  The Chagrin And Rocky were too high this weekend, but will have fish in them from now until spring.  Spike and I had a cigar on the Tusc., and a couple pike swiped each of us a few times.   An ultralight Rebel Minnow on 4lb Cajun Red was too much for this guy.  Great day to relax on the bank!

Steelieman and Friends welcomes Bobby Fash to the Lunker Club!

"Fash" brings in a big bass on a Pop-R topwater bait at West Branch!  Fash  and Chopps fish tournaments on Chopp's boat.  Of couse, this wasn't a tournament day.

Michigan Pike On The Fly!

The Michigan trip was very productive.  Many pike were landed and released.  All caught stripping large 4-6 inch streamers.  Big Dan holds a nice one.  The key to not breaking off fish is your tippet.  They were using Rio Powerflex-Wire-Bite-Tippet 20lb.  It is thin braided copper wire with a plastic coating on it.

The Nomad with another one!

Some New Horse Flies!

The creek smallies will be putting on the feed bags as fall brings shorter days and cooler temps.   Let them gorge themselves on some of Rose's tail and mane hair from "Garrott Farms."

Below is a hank of tail hail from Rose. It has an opaque golden sheen, and I mixed it with some of the thinner brown and cream mane hair.

Summers Over!

Not much going on last couple weeks.  "Nimishillencreekkidsfishing" will be down for a short time while Spikekayak works on a new and improved site for fall!
I was out scouting steelhead spots in the heat.  Here is a pic of the marina at the mouth of Euclid Creek!

Last Sunday this kid caught a King Salmon in the Rocky river.  That is just crazy!  See more photos at The Rocky River Fishing Report.
