The Nomad Gives Fly Tying Demo!
Nomad Anglers Fly Shop
Saturday January 11th is the start of our FREE Fly Tying Demonstrations. Each demonstration starts about 11am and goes until about 2pm. Jeff Neilson will be demonstrating in our OKEMOS SHOP productive patterns for Trout Out West. Jeff is an accomplished angler and has fished around the world chasing big trout. He frequently fished out west in Montana and Colorado and has fished in the Jackson Hole One Fly Event multiple times. Come pick his brain about fishing or some new patterns. Jeff has also on occasion been spotted on our home waters schooling the locals on winter steelhead tactics!

Chagrin Report!
Monday Dan and I fished the Chagrin drifting jig and maggots. Water is in the mid 30's and strong winds were coming out of the north. Dan landed 2 fish and myself 1. No big ones, but still good to have your float go down and feel the tug of a steelhead! I expect the river to lock up with ice and slush by the end of this week!

Chagrin River Report!
Sunday the water looked real good. Flow was 150 and all the leaves are gone. I floated egg patterns and bunny strip jigs tipped with Berkley honey worms I landed this shortly after the sun came out and warmed the water a bit. Saw one other fish caught in the 4 hrs I was there.
Looks more like January up there with ice and snow all along the river!

Pike Report!
Pike bite turned on after the cool air moved in this weekend! Expect it to pick up as we move into cool stable weather! There are many more big fish to be had in The Tusc. River and all its tributaries. Big Dan with one of 2 fish he landed on a white tube bait!
I brought one in with the fly rod on a white bunny strip!
